Using printed ephemera connected with his work as a freelance photographer for the National press, Koppel uses tickets, press passes, photo passes and invitations to merge photography and printed ephemera to create an autobiographical portrait of some of rocks greatest stars. A blue triangular pass to photograph Keith Richards at the Marquee, a ticket to see the Rolling Stones in Rotterdam and a VIP pass from their London show at Wembley, all used to identify Koppel as a member of the press are merged with a black and white portrait of Jagger, taken at a charity function at Peter de Savory's Wiltshire home to create a unique portrait of Mick Jagger, entitled 'The Clown'.
All prints are embossed with the photographers stamp, numbered and signed by the photographer David Koppel in pencil on lower right margin.
